Without these you cannot operate you device. Whether you want to login into iCloud on new device or if you wish to download anything from iTunes or from the App Store, you need to have Apple ID & Password. If you forget your password, there is a way you can reset it, but you need to remember Apple ID. Here is the way to reset your password from different sources

• From your iPhone, iPad, iPod with iOS 10 or later
• From your Mac with Cataina OS or later
• From your Mac with Mojave OS and earlier
• Over Web

From your iPhone, iPad, iPod with iOS 10 or later:

Follow the step to reset Apple ID Password.

1. Open Setting on your iPhone
2. Click on Apple ID(Your Name)
3. Click on Password & Security
4. Select Change Password option there.

      5. Now your need to enter your Device Passcode, and then click on done.

      6. Now Type your New Password  twice and the click on Change option

From your Mac with Catalina OS or Later:

1. Goto Apple Menu
2. Select System Preferences
3. Click on Apple ID
4. Click on Password & Security
5. Now Click on Change Password.

7. Now you need to enter your Mac Password to unlock the option if prompted
8. After entering your Mac password click on Allow

3. Then Click on iCloud
4. Then select Account Details

10. Now you need to enter your Mac Password to unlock the option if prompted
11. Now you need to Enter your new Password twice for Apple ID

Over Web: 

1. Goto iforgot.apple.com
2. Enter your Apple ID in the give Box
3. Then Click on Continue
4. An email to reset your password will be sent to your registered mail ID
5. Follow the step and reset your password.
